The lifeboat, ILB Betty & Thomas Moore, was crewed by Colin Pullenger, Andy Lee and trainee Dan Langford.

“It just goes to show no matter how experienced you are or how well you may plan your journey, you never know when you will need the services of the RNLI,” said Mr Pullenger.

The alarm was raised just before 3pm on July 8.
