Lensmen focus on competition

THE annual battle between Middleton, Witterings and Selsey camera clubs was held on Monday, February 18, at the Jubilee Hall, Middleton.

The judge was Barbara Holder. She is popular with photographers as she has a remarkable eye when looking at slides and seeing things that can otherwise be missed even by the author.

A total of 60 slides for the evening, 20 from each club, showed photography at its best and, when the final result was given, it was quite a close thing between the clubs.

Congratulations must go to worthy winners of the shield the Witterings Club, who gained 361 points, closely followed by Selsey with 358.5 points and Middleton with 356.5 points.

A buffet was enjoyed during the interval and the raffle was well supported. Middleton's projectionist for the evening was Roland Gillett who did a superb job as usual.

Chairman Ken Wheeler gave the vote of thanks to Barbara on behalf of everyone for a very enjoyable evening, and both of the other clubs thanked Middleton for their hospitality.

March 3 will be Middleton's next meeting with Andrew Perry giving a presentation of his work. Visitors are always welcome to attend our evenings from 7.15pm until 10pm.
