A plan to merge two GP surgeries in Horsham is no longer on the cards, according to a doctor at one of the practices.

In today’s County Times, the futures of the two GP surgeries are unclear, a decision to refuse a boy a place at the secondary school opposite his home has been labelled ‘barmy’, and a school has axed its out of hours care for children as it was losing £20,000 a year.

The future of a new school at a housing development in Broadbridge Heath remains in doubt, a pre-school has received Ofsted’s highest rating following its first inspection in more than five years, and a former Olympic gold medallist opened a charity’s new £21,000 development.

Meanwhile, a strongman has been crowned the UK powerlifting champion, volunteers picked litter in Horsham Park as part of the nationwide Clean for the Queen campaign, and tributes have been paid to the man who pioneered the building of Horsham’s Y Centre.
