Mr. Ahmad was justifiably proud of all these runners.

The Memorial Hall was alive with the sound of music last Saturday night when four talented performers staged ‘’Barbershopera’’ - a delightfully daft tale of a matador who inherited a barber’s shop in Norfolk.

The audience was treated to perfectly harmonious unaccompanied singing - part opera, part barbershop, though neither in quite the traditional way.

The very funny script, written by two of the cast, was greatly appreciated and much laughter accompanied the singing. The Hall looked lovely-- thanks to Joan Baker-- the food was as good as ever--thanks to Derrick Baker-- and the atmosphere and ambience were great.

The event was well supported, mainly by loyal villagers but also with parties from Rye and Bexhill plus a few other out siders.

Everyone had a really good evening and many favourable comments were received. It was another successful community event, thanks to Applause and the Icklesham Players.

Thank you Maureen Callis for this review.
