Today Friday 1 March is St. David’s Day - Dydd Dewi Sant.

In The Memorial Hall there is a Lent Lunch between 12.30 and 2 with home made soup,bread and a variety of cheeses. Everyone is welcome - just perhaps make a donation to this week’s chosen charity.

The Good Companions meet in the Hall between 2 and 4 with a lot of activity plus tea and biscuits. Just £1.50 per person to cover costs. Further information from Eric 01424 814689.

Saturday 2 March The Spring Craft Fair in Icklesham Hall from 10 till 3. There will be an Easter Egg and chocolate raffle with a draw on every hour.

There will be 10 tables of local arts and crafts - some in Icklesham for the first time. If you have never been, why not come and see what is on offer or just have a coffee and a cake. Books will be on sale in aid of the new pavilion fund. Everyone is welcome and there’s plenty of free parking just off the A259.

After last week’s table sale a very generous kind donor who lives in this village offered to match the sum of money raised at the sale. The lady wishes to remain anonymous but Sandra Stunt who ran the sale would like to thank her for her very kind gesture. This gave the sale a final figure of £440 and shows how lucky Icklesham is to have such a good community spirit.

The Hall has been lucky to obtain 20 free tables from Hastings Academy (Hillcrest School not so long ago). They will be perfect for serving teas, playing cards etc. The Trust Committee are very grateful to Ron and Debbie of Windmill Orchard Farm Shop & Tea Room who kindly collected and transported the tables for the Hall for free.

Saturday 16 March 11 am - 2pm the first Church Market of 2013. If you would like to provide an Easter Lily to be put in the Church in memory of a loved one Janet Thompson will be taking orders at the Market. The List of Dedications is placed in The Church.

Sunday 3 March 4-6 Live Music in the Queen’s Head Cut The Mustard play hot stuff.

Sunday 24 March the Hastings Half Marathon and Ian Mitchell says: “enough time has passed and beer been drunk for me to put finger to the button and enter again. The lycra and the shoes have been dusted off foe another 13+ mile saunter round the hilly town. One can only hope for conditions as good as last year so not putting me off jogging for life a s I fully expected.

I want to raise at least £1000 for the Royal British Legion (to match last year), my chosen charity which does so much to help servicemen and women from battles and wars past and present.. Jane Gillard who has lived in Icklesham for 6 years would like the village to have a Facebook page .Jane says ‘’we would all benefit from a Facebook page specifically for everyone who lives and works within our village.The idea of the page is to inform or ask questions relating to our village.
