How safe is your seat? Free tests will find out

ROAD Safety experts will visit Worthing next week for free children's car seat tests.

County council and fire and rescue service officials hope the tests will go some way to reducing the 7,000 children under 10 injured and some 30 killed as car passengers every year in the UK.

The testing will be done by Fire and Rescue officers, road safety specialists and staff from local company Dial-a-Hubby, all specially trained in the fitting of child car seats.

Lionel Barnard, County Council Cabinet Member for Public Protection, said: "If you are at all unsure about how safe your children's car seats are then you will not be wasting your time to take advantage of this free offer.

"It will go a long way toward helping ensure that your child or children do not become just another tragic statistic."

The tests will take place at Halfords, Downlands Business Park, Lyons Farm,on the Upper Brighton Road, between 10am and 1pm, no appointment necessary.
