Hospice shop is vandalised

The window of the shop, on White Rock Parade, Hastings, was smashed overnight between 5pm on Tuesday 3rd February and 8am on Wednesday 4th February.

This is the second incident of criminal damage to the hospice shop in the past few weeks.

The front window was broken, but no entry was gained.

Chloe Dyas, from St Michael’s Hospice said: “The cost of replacing the window was £200, a huge and unnecessary expenditure for the hospice.

“Staff and volunteers work tirelessly all year round to raise millions of pounds for the hospice, to ensure specialist, palliative care can be provided to people throughout Hastings and Rother.”

Chris Jones, Head of Retail said “Once again our shop at White Rock Hastings was damaged as a result of someone smashing one of the shop windows, at the front of the building.

“Not only is this a major inconvenience and cost to the Hospice, but it is also very distressing for our volunteers and staff who work so hard in raising funds for the Hospice.”

The vandalism follows an incident last December when Christmas lights, raising money for the hospice at Westfield, were vandalised.
