Horsham man arrested after man knocked unconscious outside pub

The assault took place outside the Bulls Head pub in South Street, Dorking, at 1.10am on Saturday, May 28, Surrey Police said.

Officers said an altercation took place between the victim and two other men, during which the victim was knocked unconscious and kicked in the head.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to East Surrey Hospital in Redhill.

Police say they are carrying out a number of enquiries but believe there may be people who might have witnessed the incident or saw part of what happened that have not come forward.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Rob Garrett said: “The pub would have closed around that time so it is possible there could have been people who weren’t involved in the incident but who witnessed some or all of what took place.

“There are also residential properties above the shops in that area and we are keen to speak to the occupants of these properties if they have not already come forward.

“We have made a number of enquiries but any further assistance would be welcomed.”

Police said a 29-year-old from Horsham and an 18-year-old from Dorking were arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.

They have been released on bail, pending further enquiries.
