Horror road crash leaves a young woman dead

It happened at 2.25pm, on the A27 westbound carriageway at its junction with Yapton Lane, Walberton, when the VW car she was driving collided with a VW Caddy van.

Police have described the woman as "local to the area".

The driver of the van was taken to St Richard's Hospital, Chichester, with shock.

The westbound carriageway was closed for more than three hours, and caused chaos into the rush hour.
