January can be a long, hard month so the team at TE Hastings wanted to do something that might help.

Throughout January, TE staff contributed generously to a food collection and ended up with a fantastic amount to donate to Dom's Food Mission.

Dom’s mission is to help feed those who are struggling and to make an impact on food waste. They distribute 4,500 meals a week and save over 1.9 metric tons of food from landfill every week.Tony Fuller, project co-ordinator, said that TE's donation will go to their project, A Helping Hand, which is a unique opportunity to unite children and communities.

Dom’s Food Mission goes into schools and teaches children how to wash, prepare and cook food for others. The project not only teaches people how to cook it gives them life experiences, how to help others and the true meaning of a helping hand.
