Glimmer of hope in pub boycott

THE CAMPAIGN to bring Harveys back to the Lewes Arms is hotting up.

Pub owners Greene King has made an announcement which has brought hope to those who are still boycotting the pub.

In the past week the story has been reported in a number of national newspapers as the dispute entered its 100th day.

The Friends of Lewes Arms met on Saturday to set up a formal committee and pledged further action against Greene King unless it reinstates Harveys.

But the pressure group is also cautiously optimistic following a statement from Greene King which said the company wanted to allow managers of local-style pubs more responsibility in the way they run their pubs.
