Giant flowers invade Northiam
A Northiam gardener has succeeded in growing flowers to a towering height of 14.5 feet.
Amy Law. of Mill Corner, has grown two unusual Echium plants.
Echiums are more likely to be seen in the West country, The Isles of Scilly and Alderney even growing wild.

Hide AdAmy said: “I bought the seeds from the lost gardens of Heligan in Cornwall three years ago and have nurtured these plants since.
“This year they have reached maturity and are an amazing 14.5 feet tall. They are truly magnificent.”
Echiums are native to North Africa.
There are 60 different species of Echium and a more common, but smaller, version is the blue Viper’s Bugloss that can be found growing wild on the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.
One variety of Echium, known as Patterson’s Curse, has become a major invasive species in Australia.
