Horsham’s three neighbourhood councils teamed up to launch ‘Horsham Blueprint’ to lead on production of a Neighbourhood Plan for the unparished part of the town.

Everybody who lives, works or carries on business in the unparished area has been invited to work towards establishing, building and enacting a vision and planning policies for the community.

The consultation begins today (Thursday September 4) and will be open until Thursday October 16.

Frances Haigh, Lib Dem district councillor for Horsham Park ward, and chair of the forum, said: “This is fantastic news for Horsham town.

“Many local residents and organisations have been working hard for nearly two years to pull together to create the forum which will give us a voice in shaping the town for the future.’’

She added: “We are absolutely delighted to have reached this stage in the process. Thanks go to Horsham District Council officers for helping us to get this far. Special thanks go to Angela Koch at ImaginePlaces who has supported us.

“But more importantly, thanks to everyone who has come forward to work with us or to sign up as members. We now need as many people as possible to write to HDC in support of the forum. Ultimately, being able to produce a neighbourhood plan will enable us to have more funds for the community so that we can deliver the facilities we need.

“The projects we have already started in Queen Street and Bennetts Field show what can be done when we all work together for our town. We are looking to doing further work across the area in association with the neighbourhood councils and other organisations. We welcome anyone who wants to join in and take part.”
