Forum can make use of your experience

SEAFORD Seniors Forum is inviting members and all those interested to the annual meeting at Crossway Church, Steyne Road, on Friday, March 2 at 2pm.

The qualifying age to join is 50 plus and it is open to any Seaford resident. Membership now stands at more than 400 and is rising '“ it helps committee members in their negotiations with statutory bodies if they can be seen to have a strong mandate. The forum is non-political '“ all the main parties are represented privately on the committee who work together for the benefit of the town.

Acting chairman John Burns said: 'Your officers have attended many meetings and very forcefully put the case for better provision of healthcare in the town. Other issues like transport, both within the town and especially to Eastbourne District General Hospital, are within our remit and we have taken them up on behalf of the town, with our MP Norman Baker and relevant officers.'

Mr Burns added: 'The wider the cross-section of the town that the forum represents, the stronger will be our voice.

'We always need people of experience.'

'To make the meeting a success, come along, have your say and encourage friends and neighbours to join.'
