Ferrets make comeback

Ferrets will again be the stars as a West Meads garden becomes a fundraising centre.

Patricia West is hosting a summer fair at her home '“ 45 St Peter's Close '“ from 1pm to 3pm on bank holiday Monday.

The furry creatures are coming back by popular demand after they were a success at Mrs West's previous charity events.

She said: 'If you've never cuddled one of these adorable creatures, now's your chance. We do hope a lot of people will come along to support this event to raise funds to help stop cruelty and abuse of animals in this country and abroad.'

The fair will raise money for animal welfare. A total of 15 different animal rescue charities will have stalls.

A few spaces still remain. Anyone who would like a free stall in aid of any animal charity or conservation or environmental group should contact Mrs West on 01243 841429. She is also seeking the loan of a tea urn for the fair. Entrance is 50p, with children free.
