According to Eastbourne Borough Council, people have until March 19 to renew their subscription online to guarantee the service continues without interruption between April 2021 to March 2022.

Any late renewals may experience a delay and therefore a pause in collections.

The collection service costs £52 for a year.

Councillor Jonathan Dow, cabinet member for climate change, said, “I urge people to renew now before the deadline arrives so they can enjoy a continuous service which will be especially important when the better weather arrives and everyone starts using and tending to their gardens more.”

The council says additional bins are available for an extra £52 per bin. In some cases neighbours club together and share a bin.

Items that can be disposed of include grass cuttings, leaves, wood chippings, hedge trimmings, plants and flower cuttings.

Councillor Dow added, “Renewing online is simple and only takes a couple of minutes – a much quicker job than mowing your lawn.”
