"We had just got to the top of Links Drive. Suddenly, eggs started arriving from the back of us. I was walking with my friend at the rear. My wife and my friend's wife were in front.

"They were alright but we got it. We had to go back and my trousers in the washing machine.

"A woman who was out walking her dog said 'Were you hit?'

"She said the gang ran off into Penland Wood.

"In the past two weeks there has been a lot of egg-throwing in this area.Eggs have been thrown at people in the street. They have even been throwing eggs at people working in their gardens.

"I got on to our Neighbourhood Watch and they knew all about it. I believe it is the same gang who are doing the graffiti who are doing it."
