Elements of the exercise include operating in built up areas and a shoot house - a purpose built training establishment for live firing tactical training inside buildings.
Sgt Turner is in telecommunications in his civilian role, installing microwave antennae around corporate buildings.
He joined the battalion ten months ago, having transferred originally from the Royal Marines as a regular soldier working with signals to the Reserve Marines and then to Three PWRR.

On his discovery of Four Platoon in Eastbourne it seemed to be a practical and ideal solution to transfer into Three PWRR.
Luke said, “Military life is a hobby as well as a passion, being able to continue my service and career has been great and the extra help financially is always a bonus.
“For a few years my family moved to Somerset with me where I was based at one stage but then they didn’t settle so we moved back to Sussex.”
