Dragons to be spotted on the River Arun again

DRAGONS are set to do battle once again on the waters of the River Arun.

On August 5, teams of 16-20 people will take to the water to paddle their dragon boats against the clock over a 250-metre distance.

But organisers Keith Croft and Paul Crease said more teams are needed in order for the event to go ahead.

Said Keith: "We need the help of the people and businesses in the area to make this succeed.

"Teams are needed for the event to take place, and although we have five or six regular teams, we need to get this up to 10 or 12 for the event to become viable.

"We don't want to see another local activity go to the wall when we know that there are lots of people out there who would love to have a fun day and support their community."

Racing will start at 10.30am and be finished at around 4pm. Proceeds will go to a local charity, as yet to be decided.

Anyone interested in entering a team should call Keith Croft on 07932 176051 or Paul Crease on 01903 722335.
