Hannah Bower from Hammonds Gardens, who is 21 tomorrow (July 10), has been accepted to study for a Masters degree to study at St Hilda’s College at the University of Oxford, where she has been awarded the Jeremy Griffiths Memorial Studentship.

The degree ceremony was on June 28, and the status ‘double first’ reflects her first in her final exams this year, as well as a first in her second year exams, as Cambridge has a unique Tripos system.

Hannah attended Warden Park School in Cuckfield and then obtained four A* A-levels at Central Sussex College in Haywards Heath.

Her father, Andrew Bower, said: “She was very fortunate to have had inspirational teachers at both schools, who nurtured her passion for English Literature.”
