Two charged with drugs offences in Brighton

Two people have been charged with offences linked to the investigation into the murder of Abdul Deghayes in Brighton on February 16, after being arrested yesterday (Thursday, May 16).

Police said Daniel McLeod, who is already remanded in custody charged with Abdul’s murder, has been further charged with three counts of conspiracy to supply controlled drugs - cannabis, cocaine and ecstasy.

Stephen Burns, 54, self-employed, of Lennox Street, Brighton, has been charged with assisting an offender (in relation to the murder offence), police said, and three counts of conspiracy to supply controlled drugs - cannabis, cocaine and ecstasy.

Both men were remanded in custody to appear before magistrates in Brighton today (Friday, May 17).

Police said a 23-year-old man from Brighton, also arrested yesterday on suspicion of conspiracy to supply controlled drugs, was later released under investigation.
