Man punched to the head in Littlehampton attack
A man was punched in the head in an attack outside a Littlehampton store.
At just after 4.30pm on Tuesday 30 March, a customer, a 42-year-old local man, was outside the Wick Express store in Wick Road, Littlehampton, waiting his turn to enter in a socially distanced manner, when another man brushed past him and went straight into the store, said police. When the customer challenged this behaviour a fight broke out in which the customer was punched to the head and the suspect was seen to produce a hunting style knife before leaving and cycling off towards the town centre. The customer sustained grazes to his hand and head.
And police have released an image of a man they want to speak to about the attack.
A spokesman added: “The suspect is described as black, in his early twenties, 5’10”, with black afro-style hair, and wearing a grey puffa jacket, black beanie hat and black tracksuit bottoms.”
Investigator Martin George said; “If you can help us trace this man, or if you also saw anything of what happened, please contact us either online or by calling 101, quoting serial 991 of 30/03.”
The spokesman said: “You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
