Armed robbery in Eastbourne convenience store

A man armed with a large knife and wearing a balaclava robbed an Eastbourne convenience store

Police say a man entered the Apex shop in Station Parade armed with the weapon at about 5.13pm on Tuesday (April 20).

According to police, he threatened the store owner and demanded money before stealing the till and its contents from the counter.

He fled the store on foot, heading towards The Avenue and Upperton Gardens.

The man is described by police as between 5’8”-5’10”, wearing blue trousers, a black hooded top with white strings and a full face balaclava.

Detective constable Jo Lane said, “If you saw this man or have any other information that would help, especially if you have any dashcam footage or CCTV, please contact us at Eastbourne CID either online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1118 of 20/04.”
