They were up against The District Post in the first heat and although it was a close race, the County Times came out triumphant.

That was where the luck ran out though. In the semi finals, the team were up against YMCA, Winston’s Wish and Pavilions Kinetica and the newsteam came last.

Through to the final were YMCA and Winston’s Wish.

There were 12 massive mascots competing in the Ringway Giant Egg & Spoon Races including a Bear, Dragon, Lion, Hound, Rabbit, and Horsham FC’s very own Howie the Hornet.

Earlier Horsham District Council’s team with councillors Helena Croft, Jonathan Chowen, Roger Arthur and Claire Vickers, was the first and only team to be disqualified from this year’s contest for running.
