Churches to unite for torchlight procession

A TORCHLIGHT procession will begin at St Peter's Church on Monday, February 11, and will proceed down Upper Sea Road to St Mary Magdalene's Church.

February marks the 100th anniversary of the apparitions of the Virgin Mary to Bernadette of Lourdes.

The members of St Mary Magdalene's have invited everyone from St Peter's and anyone else from the other town churches, to join in celebrating the event.

The statue of Mary will be brought to St Peter's for a short service beginning at 7 00 pm, which will be followed by a procession of witness with the statue to St Mary Magdalene's Church, where the choir of St Peters' will sing Vespers.

Afterwards there will be refreshments in Mary Magdalene's Hall.
