Church to host art exhibition

Hundreds of paintings will be on show in Pagham this weekend.

The artwork will be on display at St Thomas a'Becket Church in Church Lane. A preview evening will be held tomorrow before the public sessions take place from Saturday to Monday.

Frank Rowley, the exhibition's organiser, said: "As last year, paintings and artworks will be displayed in the church.

"This gives us plenty of room to hang and display paintings to their best advantage.

"Last year, about 300 paintings were displayed from more than 70 artists, with a considerable number of paintings being sold. This year we hope to do even better as the show grows in popularity."

The exhibition will run from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Monday. Sunday's session will open at 2pm. Admission is free.

A preview tomorrow night from 7pm-9pm provides an opportunity to enjoy the pictures with a glass of wine and light refreshments. Admission to the preview is 3 but free for artists who are exhibiting.
