Christmas Fair raises over £1,000 for Cancer Research

THE FACT that Christmas is very much on it's way was evident at the weekend with many Christmas Fairs enticing shoppers to buy their gifts whilst raising funds for charitable causes and enjoying a cuppa.

The Bexhill and Little Common Branch of Cancer Research UK made over a thousand pounds for the charity at their Christmas Fair held at Little Common Community Centre. An amount which branch member Elizabeth King said was more than last year and a,"very good result" considering there were many other events on that day.

Stalls sold a variety of goods including jewellery, books, toys, pictures, cakes and festive cards.

Well stocked raffles and tombolas proved popular as did guessing games to find the name of a rabbit and the weight of a magnificent Christmas cake, made and donated by the talented Isabel Freeman.
