Charters Ancaster to extend

Charters Ancaster is expanding to offer two more years of education for pupils.

The school has responded to parent's needs and will now extend to Key Stage 3 to cater to 12 and 13 year olds.

Mums and dads who want their child to remain in a preparatory environment for longer have had to look to Eastbourne or further afield up until now.

The move to offer classes in year 7 and 8 has been welcomed by a number of parents.

Mum Tracy Nesbit said: "We are looking forward to this new phase and Eleanor is excited that she will be able to continue her studies into KS3 at Charters Ancaster, with many of her friends until she is 13."

The new classes will be on offer from September 2010 and will also suit those looking to avoid too many changes of school.

Miriam Black, the recently appointed Head Teacher, says, "Several parents of current pupils and parents of children that have left have expressed an interest in extending the age range for the school. I'm delighted that we can respond to this need."
