Changes to blue badge rules for groups
A NEW tougher assessment has been introduced for organisations seeking blue badges.
Cllr Pieter Montyn, West Sussex County Council cabinet member for highways and transport, has approved a ‘raised set of eligibility criteria’ for organisational blue badges. Organisational blue badges can be issued to organisations for vehicles carrying disabled people who would themselves be eligible for a blue badge.
The new rules set out criteria designed to ‘conclusively demonstrate’ the organisation needs a blue badge rather than just using those of the people it is transporting.
