Chamber backs Mayor's Ball plans

BEXHILL Chamber of Commerce and Tourism is throwing its weight behind Cllr Eric Armstrong's work to stage a fund-raising Mayor's Ball.

At the Town Mayor's request, the chamber is e-mailing all members publicising the Saturday, May 5 De La Warr Pavilion event.

The ball will start at 7pm for 7.30pm in the main auditorium with a welcome drink. There will be three choices for each of the meal's three courses.

The live music for the evening is being planned as a showcase for local talent and includes a live dance band.

Tickets are 30 a head and tables for eight or ten which are block-booked will receive free wine on the table.

Businesses or individuals can sponsor a table from 50.

The Town Mayor said this week: "A great deal of effort is going into making this an excellent night and I hope that the town's businesses will support."
