Career advice for girls at Bognor campus of university

The Bognor campus of the University of Chichester is organising an Enterprising Women Conference for more than 100 schoolgirls on Wednesday, which is Women's Enterprise Day.

The aim of the day is to inspire and motivate young girls aged 14 to 16 to start thinking now about the range of possible career options open to them.

There will be a number of pupils from Bognor Regis College and Felpham Community College.

Guest speakers include Claire Askehy, deputy editor of Cosmopolitan magazine, Louise Goldsmith, cabinet member for finance and resources at West Sussex County Council, and Andrea Knowles of Butlins.

Event organiser Lesley-Anne Holder said: "The theme for this year is progression. We want to ensure this is an interactive event so the students will have the opportunity to interview three business professionals on how they progressed from school/college to their current role.

"They will then be able to ascertain the skills and experience they will need to undertake those job roles.

"We hope this will be a fun and informative way to gain invaluable career advice from successful businesswomen."
