And as well as congratulating the individual winners, the duke praised the Littlehampton Business Partnership, which organises the annual event, for being well ahead of the rest of West Sussex in encouraging partnership between companies and with the community.

Awards were made to businesses of all sizes and in a wide range of markets, as well as to individuals who have shone as trainees or work experience students. Among the recipients was Littlehampton-based Rose Miniatures, the small business of the year for firms with up to five employees. Not only is the firm small in numbers. As its name suggests, it specialises in petite products dolls house kits and miniature furniture sold in the UK and internationally.
