Burwash

Race Night: An exciting evening is planned for tomorrow evening by the Burwash Common & Burwash Weald Residents Association. They invite you a special Race Night at the Pavilion in Burwash Common. Entrance is £5, £4 for members, a hotdog is included in the price. There will be eight races to bet on, seven of which are sponsored the final one is auctioned on the night. The licenced bar will be open. The fun begins at 7.30pm.

Parish Walk: Roger Cloke invites you all to join him on Monday morning for the next monthly Parish footpath walk. he walkers will leave the Bear car park at 9am and will enjoy walking over the network of public footpaths around out lovely villages. Last month they walked north of the village. This time they aim to go the other way. The walks usually consist of 5/6 miles at a gentle pace, stopping to take in the views and wildlife. Admiral Nurses: Admiral nurses is a a specialist dementia nurses who help with those suffering in the their own homes. On Tuesday you can have a chance to talk on a one to one basis, privately and in confidence to an Admiral Nurse. They will be at The Bell in Ticehurst. Bingo: Next weekend the Burwash Short mat bowls club will be holding a prize bingo afternoon for the whole family to enjoy. The fun will begin at 2.30pm on Saturday, in the Burwash village hall. All proceeds will go to the Burwash Village hall window fund. Donations of prizes and grocery items would be very welcome and can be given to any bowls club member or call Mary Taylor for more information.

Weddings: Also next weekend St Bartholomew’s will be staging a wedding dress exhibition. Dresses from down the ages are being loaned and will make for a spectacular display. You can visit on Friday from 7 -9pm or Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
