Boozy vandal’s scuffle with police

A NIGHT out drinking ended with a spell in the cells after a drunken vandal caused trouble in Battle town centre.

At 11.45pm last Thursday (December 2) a group of four men were seen walking up the High Street, when one of them lashed out and punched a window at Nationwide, causing it to crack.

Witnesses reported the man to police and officers confronted him in Market Road. The man, who had damaged his hand punching the window, tried to resist arrest and police were forced to use captor spray to subdue him.

He was arrested and later questioned.
