Hide AdAs reported, town councillors abandoned their idea to create a local history centre in an unused part of the town's railway station because of the cost.
No progress has been achieved since that decision was made but Mrs Daniells said a new museum was still a possibility on a more modest scale.
The museum is run by local history society volunteers and opens for about seven months a year in a former shop.
