Bognor students fill shoeboxes for other children

STUDENTS at a Bognor Regis school made Christmas special for other children.

The pupils and their teachers at The Regis School helped to send 90 shoeboxes crammed with goodies and gifts to The Samaritans Purse: Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box appeal.

They worked tirelessly for three weeks to ensure boys and girls aged two to 14 around the world, who may not otherwise receive anything, would enjoy some festive cheer.

The boxes are full of items from sweets and toys to clothing.

The project was run by sixth formers Ben Scrivens, Claire Bourner and Katherine Downes and led by their RE teacher, Victoria Hinton. Miss Hinton said: “It was delightful to see such enthusiasm and care for others shown by both the sixth formers and the whole school community.”

Headteacher David Jones said: “One can only wonder at the excitement of the children who receive them.”
