Bognor Regis man dies in hospital after M27 crash

A man from Bognor Regis who was seriously injured in a crash on the M27 last week has died in hospital.

Police have today confirmed that Ionut Balabaneanu, 35, died at Southampton General Hospital on April 20.

He was the driver of a Nissan Micra which was involved in a collision with a white Mercedes Sprinter van at junction 3 of the M27 on April 12, at around 3.50am.

Hampshire Constabulary’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is continuing to look into the incident.

Anyone with any information about the collision is asked to call the SCIU based at Eastleigh on 101, quoting Operation Pointer, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
