Biggest in town
Asda will easily be the biggest supermarket around Bognor Regis. The plans are for a total size of 75,000-80,000sq ft building with a floorspace of 48,000sq ft.
This is the same as the company's branch in The Bridge shopping centre in Fratton, Portsmouth, and about half the size of its massive Havant branch.
Asda in Bognor would also match Tesco at Fishbourne.
But it would leave Bognor's Tesco behind. That measures 72,785sq ft overall and the town centre Morrisons is 24,000sq ft in comparision.
Asda expects to employ 400-500 people at its new store. It estimates some 1,500 workers in all will be based at the business park on which the store will be located.
