Bexhill Leisure centre prize draw

FOUR lucky people won prizes in the Bexhill Leisure Centre's prize draw on Saturday, with the first prize winner generously donating his prize to St Mary's Wrestwood Childrens Trust.

The club's Membership Advisor, Nicole White said the free prize draw was part of their 'Active Saturday' event, which the club hosted in partnership with Active Rother and Surestart Bexhill Childrens Centre.

Accepting the first prize of a 'Trailbreaker' mountain bike from Nicole, winner Rob Madeley 21, said he already owns a mountain bike and, as he doesn't have any friends or family who he could give the bike to, decided that the next best thing was to donate it to charity.

Rob, who recently started work for Hastings' soon to be launched local tv station, Channel 1066, as their Commercial Manager said: "I suppose I could have sold the bike on ebay but to be honest I'm far too busy and I'd rather donate it to charity anyway. I asked the Leisure Centre which charity they support and they said St Mary's Wrestwood."

St Mary's Wrestwood office manager Sue Munn was delighted to receive the bike saying: "We are very grateful to Rob and we plan to put the bike into our gala Auction of Promises event which we are holding on 4th October." (Further details of this event will be announced in the Observer in the next few weeks).

Three other winners won runner-up prizes of personal training sessions at the club with personal trainer Richard Chappell.

One winner of the training sessions was full-time Mum 27 year old Hannah Dale.

She said: "I have two children aged three and four and I rarely get time to look after myself so this is a real treat for me as, not only am I getting a training session, but the children are being taken care of in the club's creche."

Nicole added: "The organisers of Active Saturday would like to thank everyone who gave up their time to help out at this event which was a great success."
