Battle Abbey rugby delight

A great day out was enjoyed by Battle Abbey prep school pupils when they attended a rugby master class coached by the London Wasps training team in High Wycombe.

Happily the weather held out as students all split into relevant age groups and two hours of high quality training ensued.

The boys then had the opportunity to watch a Guinness premiership match at Adams Park.

Before the game all pupils had a pitch side photo with the Guinness Premiership Trophy, the 'stinger', (the cuddly wasp mascot) and also had the opportunity to meet Jeremy Staunton.

All students received a London Wasps scarf as part of the visit and were delighted that the attendance of Battle Abbey School pupils was announced over the ground's PA system before the match.

The game itself was particularly exciting and London Irish almost took the lead after Wasps had been in control for most of the match. The final score was 21 - 16 to Wasps and all the children returned home with a great experience to tell their parents about.
