Barcombe

Bowling Club: Last week was a busy week as the club played four matches, two away and two at home. The games were enjoyable and the results were close with our opponents getting just a few more shots in three of the games than Barcombe . However Barcombe won the game against Cross- in- Hand by 15 shots .

The results are Barcombe 78 - Cross- in- Hand 63 ; Barcombe 71 – 74 The Crouch (Seaford); Barcombe 64 – Ringmer 65; Barcombe 60 – Portslade 68.

Cricket: After last weeks crushing defeat at Laughton, Barcombe were hoping to bounce back with at least a solid performance at home against Lewes Priory. Conditions were perfect, if a little chilly, and the BRG looked splendid after all the pre-season work.

The players made their way out early in order to present club stalwart Graham Tomsett with a painting of the BRG, created by vice president Mike Cruickshank, for his years of service to the club.

The team snatched a draw from the jaws of victory but it was a vast improvement on the first game and hopefully means the team are on the up. Next week they travel to Robertsbridge hoping to pick up their first win of the season. Full report in the sports section.
