Ashburnham and Penhurst Women’s Institute are having a birthday celebration on Monday June 18. They would like to invite all ladies in the villages – members and non-members alike – to join them for their celebration. They will be in the Orangery at Ashburnham Place from 7.30pm. They look forward to seeing you!

Ashburnham Village Lunch is on Wednesday June 20, 12.30pm at the Village Hall. Contact Janet Peters on 01424 892311 to book a place.

The East Sussex County Council Mobile Library service will next be in Ashburnham (by the chapel) on Thursday June 21, 9.50am - 10.10am.

The next village book group session is at 2pm on Friday June 22. They’ll be talking about, Matt Haig’s, ‘The Possession of Mr Cave’. The book group gets together on the FOURTH Friday of each month. So, they will meet again on Friday July 27. They typically end up talking about several books and all sorts of topics. If you’d like to join them call Nicky on 892474.

2m@1 are meeting on July 9, 1-3pm with a talk entitled “What you get out of a picture” with Dr Graham Whitham, an Art Historian.
