Ashburnham

The 50th Anniversary celebration of Ashburnham Chapel was blessed with sunshine and a warm day which was just as well as we had over 70 people attending the tea and so had to spill into the garden. Most people stayed on the for the Songs of Praise and were joined by some who couldn’t make the tea, so again there were over 70 singing along with the Sovereign Band who provided great music. Some reminisced of the days before the chapel took over the Old Reading Room when they, as teenagers, met every Wednesday for youth club and even met their wives and husbands there! It was great to think that the Chapel has so many happy memories and the current congregation sincerely hope that the next 50 plus years will be as happy.

A Coffee Morning is to be held at Ashburnham Sports Pavilion tomorrow, Saturday, June 14, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. There will be cakes and produce for sale too! All proceeds are in aid of the new village hall.
