Arson attack in Walberton

Fire crews spent nearly five hours at a Walberton nursery tackling an arson attack.

Some 15 firefighters were called to the site in Eastergate Lane after a large amount of rubbish and waste materials was set on fire.

They turned over and dampened down the affected area of 10m X 10m.

The alarm was raised just after 10.30pm yesterday (Wednesday, June 23). It was not until nearly 3.15am the next morning the affected site was declared safe.

The fire crews came from Arundel, Chichester and Bognor Regis.
