All eyes will looking to the skies over Rye

Following on from a busy but good-natured night at Battle last weekend, Rye will take centre stage on November 14.

All streets on the processional route in Rye town centre will be closed to traffic between 7.30-9.30pm. The torchlit procession will set off from Mason Road at 7.50pm.

It will make its way along Ferry Road to the Crown Inn, turning left into Cinque Ports Street, then Tower Street, through Landgate Arch, Hilders Cliff (East Cliff) in to High Street.

It continues on The Mint, turning right into Wish Ward, Cinque Ports Street, Tower Street, left down Landgate, right into Bedford Place and on to the bonfire site.

Rye Fawkes 2015 will be chaired down to the firesite at 8.30pmto light the spectacular bonfire at 8.45pm.

The evening will draw to a close with a grand fireworks display at 9pm.

The event is free, but all those attending are encouraged to contribute to the collection on the night. All the funds raised will go towards the £10,000 needed to stage the event and to good causes.

The Gibbet Marsh car park is next to the procession start point and there is disabled parking for up to 20 vehicles (Blue Badge holders only) at the east end of the coach park by Rye Railway Station.
