A27 crash leaves woman in hospital

A WOMAN was taken to hospital on Friday (May 22), after the car she was travelling in overturned on the A27.

It happened on the eastbound carriageway between Crossbush and Clapham at about 10.45, and the road was closed for more than 30 minutes.

A man, who was also in the car, was helped from the wreckage by passers-by, and the woman was released by paramedics.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue teams from Arundel, Littlehampton, East Preston and Worthing made the road safe before it was re-opened.
