West Chiltington kicked off the new West Sussex League premier division season with victory over Newtown Villa.

Chilt took the lead from the penalty spot after nine minutes when Tom Bayle was fouled and Gary Weedon slotted home. Ross McKay was taken off with a hamstring injury but West Chilt had a number of efforts.

After the break Chilt swept down the right wing, delivering a low cross fired home by Bayle from close range.

Youth football

Roffey Robins Atletico u12s won a tight encounter when Horsham’s two oldest youth football clubs met in a friendly.

For Atletico, Daniel Gardiner spurned a couple of great chances and Will Anderson hit the bar before their first goal. It came from Joshua Bellamy who latched on to a superb Henry Dinsdale through ball to slot home. The second came from Romario Moratalla who was set up by Lucas Byrne.

Sparrows pulled one back before a Moratalla pass found Jack Dann, who calmly made it 3-1. A second Sparrows goal caused concern for Atletico but a smart pass from Bellamy set up Aaron Woodhams.
