Following George Gaskin’s departure as player-manager in April, several of last year’s squad decided to move on as well.

Gaskin went to Southern Combination League Premier Division rivals Shoreham, with Scott Packer and Mitchell Hand following suit.

Another trio – Shay Wiggans, Liam Humphreys and Dan Kempson – have all gone to Pagham.

Despite those departures, Danny Hand, Josh Bates, Ross McKay, Dean Janman, Marshall Ball and Sam Leggatt have all decided to stay.

Baker has also managed to bring back Ben Gray, Alex Kew, Gary Peters, Liam O’Connor and Julian Curnow, while Jake Chaplin, Jack Cole, Dale Ledger, James Lees, Rob Pryor, Chris Darwin, Lloyd Carter, Aaron Turek and Alex Staines have all agreed deals.

After that business, Baker is excited ahead of their first friendly with Billingshurst on Saturday and said: “We’ve had a fair amount of change but I’m looking ahead to the new season and my first stint in first-team management.”
