'Insulting words'- Ex-Brighton player charged by FA after ill-tempered Burnley and Blackburn clash
Barnes, 33, has been charged by the FA for a reference made to rivals Blackburn Rovers after the striker scored twice in the 3-0 triumph at Turf Moor.
The former Seagull, who scored 42 goals in 141 appearances for Albion between 2010-14, has been charged with breaking FA rules and has until Friday to respond.

Hide Ad"Ashley Barnes has been charged with breaching FA Rule E3.1 during an interview that took place after Burnley FC's game against Blackburn Rovers FC on Sunday 13 November 2022,” An FA statement read.
"The forward's comments allegedly constitute improper conduct in that they are improper and/or bring the game into disrepute and/or use abusive and/or insulting words. Ashley Barnes has until Friday 2 December to provide a response."
Burnley are top of the Championship on 41 points from 21 matches and three ahead of second placed Sheffield United and five points clear of third placed Blackburn.
