A man has been taken to hospital after being struck by a train in Durrington, British Transport Police has confirmed.

British Transport Police were called to Durrington railway station at 2.09pm, a spokesman said.

The man was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, confirmed the spokesman.

Rail lines between Worthing and Angmering have now reopened.

Services had been be cancelled, delayed or revised throughout the afternoon following the incident.
